Quotes

1. Its not really a quote but when Tom picked up the turtle and wrapped him up in his coat showed that he was caring. (chapter 4)

2. "Id do what i done again....i killed a guy in a fight....i killed him with a shovel....knocked his head plumb to squash" I think this quote shows that Tom isn't afraid to throw down when he needs to an it also shows that he wont let anybody push him around. ch 4

3. "i'm hungry for these here creatures" its not necessarily an important quote but what is happening at the time is that Tom caught a rabbit and cleaned it up. That shows he's resourceful and street smart. ch 6

4. "i got along ok, minded my own business" In jail people want to hurt you and he minded his own business which shows that he knows when to pick a fight and when not to because earlier in the book he got in jail for a fight and now hes avoiding it. ch 7
